Lord, From The Depths To Thee I Cried
Scottish Psalter 1650 - Psalm 130

Lord, from the depths to Thee I cried.
My voice, Lord, do Thou hear:
Unto my supplication's voice
give an attentive ear.

Lord, who shall stand, if Thou, O Lord,
should'st mark iniquity?
But yet with Thee forgiveness is,
that feared Thou mayest be.

I wait for God, my soul doth wait,
my hope is in His word.
More than they that for morning watch,
my soul waits for the Lord;

I say, more than they that do watch
the morning light to see.
Let Israel hope in the Lord,
for with Him mercies be;

And plenteous redemption
is ever found with Him.
And from all his iniquities
He Isr'el shall redeem

Psalm 130 (New American Standard Bible)

  1. Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD.
  2. Lord, hear my voice!
  3. Let Your ears be attentive
    To the voice of my supplications.
  4. If You, LORD, should mark iniquities,
  5. O Lord, who could stand?
  6. But there is forgiveness with You,
  7. That You may be feared.
  8. I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait,
  9. And in His word do I hope.
  10. My soul waits for the Lord
  11. More than the watchmen for the morning;
    Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning.
  12. O Israel, hope in the LORD;
  13. For with the LORD there is lovingkindness,
    And with Him is abundant redemption.
  14. And He will redeem Israel
  15. From all his iniquities.

Psalm 139:23-24 (The Holy Bible, King James Version)

  1. Search me, O God, and know my heart:
  2. try me, and know my thoughts:
  3. And see if there be any wicked way in me,
  4. and lead me in the way everlasting.
